Jak jsem slibil, zde jsou nejake informace o tom jak se chova Asus AAM6310EV s novym firmwarem. Na zacateb bych ctel dodat, ze ten firmware je pomerne jiny, zda se, ze i s nekterymi funkcemi pridanymi. Verze je to:
DSL Version: Y2.1.4
S/W Version: 138030917a6.1
pro srovnani, ten muj stary byl:
ADSL Version: V1.4.2
S/W: 138309B
tak ted nekolik poznamek k nejpalcivejsimu problemu stareho firmwaru a reseni na novem.
1) NAT port end je defaultne zvednuty na 54095
2) NAT table ma stale _jen_ 179 pozic :-(
3) UDP sessions _neprepisuji_ TCP sessions! Slava, hura, kam to napsat ;-)
4) UDP timeout je defaultne na 300
Diky (2) ovsem predpokladam (a uz se to i potvrdilo behem kratkeho testovani), ze se obcas nekde clovek nepripoji z duvodu nemoznosti DNS resolvnout host a podobne. Take pri plne NAT table vazne otvirani dalsich TCP session -- presne jak by clovek cekal. Zatim mi router vytuhnul jen jednou z duvodu prehlceni NAT table, v ostatnich pripadech (s prehlcenim) to ustal. Budu testovat dal. Preci jen bych chtel ten rock solid 510i :-) Je celkem mozne, ze tyto problemy "vyresi" snizeni UDP timeout (4) ze 300 na mensi hodnotu, aby se NAT table uvolnovala rychleji. Ja ale budu zatim testovat v default konfiguraci...

Dobry podvecer,
tak panove a damy, musim Vam s politovanim sdelit, ze musim vzit zpet bod (3) vysse. Ano Asus stale nejak podivne premazava/ztraci/zahazuje stale platne TCP sessions. :-( Problem je sice daleko mene casty nez na starem firmwaru, ale je tam!
Zacinam se ridit heslem: Reklamace a Alcatel. :-(

Spravna otazka, ted jsem ji hledal -- tech novych funkci je tam pozehnane, ale nasel jsem neco co vypada zajimave:
Configuring ZIPB Mode
The ADSL/Ethernet router offers a special type of bridging mode called ZIPB (Zero Installation PPP Bridge) mode. This mode enables the ISP to simplify the installation process for customers who will be using the device as a bridge.
....
With ordinary DSL modems that use a bridged connection to the ISP, the customer must install a program on their PC called a PPP client. This program enables the customer to log in to the ISP's access server and acquire IP information that the computer needs for all subsequent Internet communication. In ZIPB mode, the ADSL/Ethernet router uses its own PPP software to communicate at startup with the ISP. The ISP assigns the IP information to the device's PPP interface, which then uses its DHCP server to pass the information on to the user's PC. Therefore, the PPP interface and the user's PC both use the same IP address.

Working with your ISP, follow this procedure to enable ZIPB mode: 1. Ensure that your PCs are configured to accept IP information assigned by a DHCP server. See Configuring TCP/IP on Your Computers for instructions. 2. Ensure that at least one PPPoE or PPPoA interface has been created on the ADSL/Ethernet router. See Configuring Your PPP Connection for instructions. The Status field for the PPP interface must be set to Start on Data. You can modify an existing interface to set this property, if necessary.
Zajimave tam IMHO je to "Ensure that at least one PPPoE or PPPoA has been created...." -- to vypada jako, ze to podporuje bridging PPPoA -- coz jak se domnivam je kamen urazu u jinych routeru krome Alcatelu.
No vypada to zajimave, zvlast jeste:
# Click the Services tab to display the NAT Configuration page. If the NAT feature is enabled, click the Disable radio button.
NATu bych se zkutecne rad zbavil. :-)

Snazil jsem se naznacit, ze to ma mozna cosi jako PPTP, ale nepotrebujete PPP na clientu. Hmm, zrovna premyslim jak to vyzkouset jestli to chodi...
